The pair of mass shootings this month in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, have pushed the regulation of firearms, whether on store shelves or in the homes of private individuals, back into the national spotlight.
At the same time, in weapons shops around the country, the tragedies have drawn new customers rushing to buy handguns and sign up for concealed-carry classes out of fear that one day, they may have to protect themselves in a mass shooting.
And, from what I hear from 5 local gun stores, sales are skyrocketing for women
Petrified? How do you figure that? Seems more likely that this was simply one more wake up call that people need to take responsibility for their own safety. Are people "petrified" if they buy a fire extinguisher after their neighbor starts a kitchen fire, and it brings home the fact that it could happen to anyone?

Oh great. So just DOUBLE the deaths. More. Innocent bystanders getting shot now.. ELIMINATE all firearms except in the hands of law enforcement. Problem Solved. Why is this so difficult?? Are we really that stupid.
Oh its a "Constitutional right" Now. Created by a bunch of people during a time where there were no Mass Assault rifles, leeches were cutting edge technology, and most didn't know where the sun went at night. Maybe its time for a completely new constitution that relates to today's society. Hmmm
Your idea is to disarm the citizens and yet allow the police to keep guns? Yeah, because that’s been a winning strategy throughout history.
When we all are forced to arm ourselves to the teeth and face down every childcare dropoff, grocery trip, and public venue like an apocalyptic battle to the death, and generally live our lives in a prison-like lockdown 24/7 to increase chances of survival...
...then will all the conservatives collectively orgasm and finally proclaim that we have entered into the enlightened Age of Nirvana. Tears of joy will be cried by many a city-data poster and NRA shill.
So it is written in the obsessive gun proliferator's hymnal. Amen.
