They claim not to like the mice, but they never remove the cheese.
You get it. That simple minded logic of let the illegals build the wall is a symptom of too much kool aid. What's lacking is logic. You can't just go on someone's property and start building anything you want. Eminent Domain cases can take years. It's bad enough that team Trump doesn't acknowledge that dear leader's company broke the law by hiring and helping illegals get the "right" paper work. Trump continued to keep them working well into his presidency.
Is it better to start another hate thread, or is it better to discuss facts intelligently?
Not a huge fan of slave labor. Because underpaid prison labor is a thing in the US, corporations have incentive to lobby for unnecessarily draconian laws and sentences, because more people locked up = more exploitative labor for them to take advantage of.
Ideas like OP mentioned reinforces a bad precedent.
Why would you want the wall built with unskilled labor?
Texas used to have prison farms where the inmates raised their own food. IIRC, the courts ruled against slavery.
Now they are paid. The state used prison labor to send out the renewal notices for auto licenses. But they have to pay.
And those are state prisons. I really dont think a president has the authority to make state prison inmates do anything. Federal inmates for that matter.
Re-read my post #41 and then come back and tell that the good physical barriers are a waste of money along with my remarks that not all illegals are coming here to work. Those that are would still continue to come here for birthright citizenship for their kids, thus the wall. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would think that those good barriers aren't a deterrant and aren't very effective when the facts speak otherwise.
Yes, go after the employers but that isn't the total solution!
What makes you think I read your post to begin with?
I did mention ending birthright citizenship.
A wall is like a lock on the door; it only keeps honest people out.
Without fixing employment verification where it is impossible to get a job if you are illegal nothing will change with a wall. Tunnel under it, go over the top or hop a boat and go around.
It would be fitting justice for those who were captured or caught crossing illegally or purposely overstaying their visas, to be forced to build that wall. The left would scream bloody murder. But it would be hilarious. And also a deterrent. Getting your ass kicked back to Mexico is not much of a deterrent. Being forced to bust your butt in 110 degree heat building a wall, with just tortillas and beans, now I think we fixed our problem in a stroke of a pen.
