Lisa Bender is president of the city council in Minnesota, it is very much a serious municipal position and she has real power in a very large US city. She is deadly serious, and all reasonable moral people should be extremely alarmed and concerned
I'm a reasonable moral person who's not extremely alarmed and concerned. I feel somewhat bad for anyone in Minneapolis who opposes disbanding the police department and will suffer the consequences, but cities and states have always been laboratories for experimentation. Better there than near me.
This is the left of today. This is the democrat party of today. How on earth democrat voters can vote for these people is beyond me. Why the left thinks they can win the white house back based on all their brain dead ideology is beyond me.
Yep, normal rational people who aren't virtue signaling don't agree to any of this nonsense. Something like 90% of people want police and the other 10% will too also as soon as they become victimized at some point.
Yeah, it's one-ups-manship virtue signalling generally brewed up in an echo chamber.
The most interesting thing here is watching the city councils, mayors etc. pander to this saying they'll embark on steps etc.
That's what they always do when you have BLM protests, bad shootings and social unrest which have happened on average every few years. they lie and the morons believe them.
Frankly, the stupidity of the "abolish the police" folks should surprise anybody because it takes a profound level of stupidity for them to believe those city officials are going to really do anything concrete behind those empty words.
Pay particular attention to her first and last paragraphs. This is spillover from Seattle. She is probably okay with disbanding the police. Btw, hers was a minority opinion. She is white, therefore in her mind, “priveleged” as she doesn’t need her Amazon packages.
