Gorsuch and Kavanaugh implied in their confirmation interviews and hearings that Roe vs Wade was settled law and precedent. They went against their own words. This is a clear sign that they that lack any honor and integrity. They tarnish the court as does Thomas who refuses to recuse himself from cases that involve his wife. This court has no moral authority with jurists such as these.
Story time... I work with several retired nurses who remember what it was like before the Roe vs Wade ruling. There were women coming in to the hospital every single day with internal bleeding from botched abortions done at home or done by some doctor in a basement clinic.
The nurses explained that even though they personally do not like the idea of abortion, it being legal is so much better than the alternative. But of course people who want abortion banned won't care about this and will say the women deserved it.
Either way, I think this is an idiotic move. Republicans were more than likely going to clean house in November and now with this ruling, swing voters will come out in droves and certainly won't be voting Republican.
A lot of us on this forum remember those days too. It was a scary time to be a young adult woman.

Funny, wasn't slavery settled law? 2nd amendment? You liberals crack me up, the only time you want to change law is when you agree.
Calling a precedent “settled” means only that it exists and says absolutely nothing about whether it could, or should, be unsettled.
No Supreme Court Justice during confirmation will say how they would vote in future cases just to get votes from the Senators. That would be unethical and banana republic cr@p.
Haven't you heard? The concept of precedence is out the window as far as the SC is concerned. Anything is subject to being overturned now.
I take it you think schools should still be segregated and blacks treated as second-class citizens, right? Or, does precedence only matter when you agree with it?
Didn't you hear? This ruling had nothing to do with abortion. They were totally focused an reversing a constitutional issue. Loving v Virginia may be next up on the docket in September.
Reality has a way of reasserting itself throughout history.
In my opinion, Brown versus Board of Education is the real holy grail of the modern Supreme Court.
But even that isn’t safe from being overturned. Schools in the United States are more segregated now than they have been in decades.
Why do you say that and have such a blanket view of 50 states ?
No it does not have to take years.
Anyone can travel to NYC and get an abortion any time up to going into labor.
How long will it take to get an appointment in NYC? How many extra patients can they handle? It will take time for the sane states to gear up new facilities.
