Does this fall under the umbrella of "freedom"? A lot of people talk about freedom but then pine for the 1950s because they wish for the strict social conformity in alignment with traditional values. The problem is this kind of society is oppressive to those who don't share the same culture, values, traditions, and religion as the majority. One ideology's "freedom" is another's oppression.

No. Homogeneity does not fall under the umbrella of freedom. What a question.

Well, a lot of people today seem to think it does. Somebody living a lifestyle that the gatekeepers don't approve of is seen as a "threat" to their freedom.

There's no freedom in one person or group of people forcing others to conform wholesale to their way of thinking or to their lifestyle.

No, nor is it possible. I have different values than my parents do, and this is very typical. It is not possible to have a truly uniform society without rigid social oppression.

"Sharing" values, cultures, and traditions can quickly become cultural appropriation. That is not acceptable to some.

My freedom to have my own values, cultures, and traditions should not be dictated. Free people should not have to "share" values, cultures, and traditions that are contradictory to their own.

Now, having said that, I have no real issue with people having their own values, culture and traditions. As long as they don't interfere with my right to enjoy my own.

But the Marxist/progressives and those on the far right continually try.

Just ignore them.

I know you have had trouble with this forum causing you mental health breakdowns. You are better off just finding something else to do with your time than arguing with a bunch of sociopaths on CD.

I can't understand why you keep harming yourself this way.

In a word…no. I don’t even see how that’s possible.

The problem today is that some people want to do away with your traditional values and replace them with theirs. In a free society the would be room for everyone's traditions but that's not how it works today. Just like some want to change history to suit their beliefs and do away with the truth.
