It's already a law here. For a very long time.

And it is a very bad law that leaves innocents prey to invaders.

"very bad" is putting it way to lightly.

Another reason to be glad I live in Missouri. We still believe in the Constitution.

Do you leave your firearms just laying around the house when you are not there? You didn't answer that.

The number of times kids use a firearm to protect themselves is dwarfed by the number of times a kid plays with a firearm and kills a sibling, parent, or friend.

Maybe anyone who has a firearm laying around that is used by a child to harm someone should be sentenced to death for being terminally stupid.
Using "dude" tells me all I need to know about YOU!

"Do you leave your firearms just laying around the house when you are not there?

Said so earlier. Try to keep up.

Did you bother to read ALL the incidents I posted where YOUNG KIDS protected themselves and brothers and sisters.

Would you rather they ALL be killed then to protect themselves and other kids in the house with a GUN?

"The number of times kids use a firearm to protect themselves is dwarfed by the number of times a kid plays with a firearm a d kills a sibling, parent, or friend."

You make the claim,it is up to you to back it up.

If there are children in the house, then a firearm that is on your body is secure. One that's laying on a coffee table in the living room while you are in the kitchen cooking is not secure. A shotgun or rifle that's on a locking rack next to the front door is secure, and I believe you can get those that are quick access.
........
We might have an agreeing point with this ........ unless the State House says that the laws for the house with children is the law for all houses.

Of course, there is the issue of what children, especially latchkey ones, do when crooks are breaking in.

On the basis of A and B, can't see how we can agree.

Nope, you need to prove that more kids fend off would be thieves than there are kids killing siblings or friends because a moron left a loaded firearm laying around where a kid could access it.

What punishment do you think would be appropriate for the parent of a 5 year old that kills a friend because there was an unsecured firearm laying around? Or is that a "too bad, so sad" situation?

.........
On the other hand, does not the opposing side often say, "If it could save one child?".....you see, it goes both ways.
