I was in the AF too, for twenty years. An enlisted cheating husband, or enlisted wife, can in fact get in trouble under the UCMJ. Did you hang around the NCO or Officer's Clubs? The reason why I asked is because that sort of behavior is seen at bars where people are drinking, regardless or being in the civilian sector or the military.

You're retired, you don't have to like it.

BTW, I wouldn't say most military members are religious and conservative. Do you have any stats, or are you going by who you know and making a generalization based on that.
How can you possibly assume I am white? Well..you are correct in that I am white in color, but I am in fact a "minority" as you call it, although straight as they come. My grand mother was half black from the West Indies, while my grandfather was Spaniard and so white he glowed in the dark

And yes, most military members are heterosexual, religious, and conservative. The religious preference is shown on each military member's dog tag. And this is not a generalization, since it has been published several times in the past.

I already said that I am glad that I retired before the US Armed Forces had a chance to turn into the US Metrosexual Forces. That should tell you that although it saddens me, as far as I am concerned there is nothing I can do but to see the military and the Boy Scouts destroyed by the gay forces.

But not all is lost: I imagine that soldiers will be issued pink helmets, and rubber bullets for their tanks and guns. The few heterosexual soldiers that manage to stay can always buy soap bars that have a long cord to hang from their necks when taking a shower... along their "brothers in arms"

Get a life. Gay "forces" in the military and Boy Scouts is not a bad thing.

I had Catholic on my dog tags. The choices did not encompass what I was a that time.
Also, there's some pressure on people to put a god-based religion.

Your homophobia is quite unappealing in you.

If your background is a minority, how's it feel to have a lot of people think you're inferior?
If you know how that feels, you must be proud to try to make others feel the same.
Not a very good human being, are you?

We had a couple of gay guys on board but so what? Sex was for shore leave.
My first ship was the USS Iwo Jima LPH-2. Do a google search using "USS Iwo Jima LPH-2 October 1990 steam leak". I arrived onboard a few weeks after the accident but recently enough to still hear the guys screaming in terror in their sleep. 10 were killed, 6 instantly (the lucky ones) and 4 later. Served onboard during Desert Storm and Bosnia. Our problem was finding a cool place to sleep since our berthing compartment shared the bulkhead with the fireroom. Shaft alley was usually cool and the constant humm of the shaft and engines was comforting. Second ship was the USS LaSalle AGF-3 after it's return from Bahrain. It went to Gaeta, Italy to be the 6th fleet flag ship. It was a horrible rustbucket.

How do you know "it's not a bad thing?" It will be bad for the morale of the troops, more soldiers won't be able to donate blood to the Red Cross, the rate of STD's will increase to enormous proportions, my homophobia is quite appealing to me, and whites are now a minority. Didn't you know that?

In fact, white workers like me don't have a chance to get some of the bailout money to be given away by Congress and Obama very soon. A short guy who worked from Clinton said so on the news last week

Don't forget that if gays were let in, then the military would have to end family housing on bases. Image how many innocent little boys would be sexually abused and raped if they didn't.

People "like you" said the same thing about integration. There are more mixed marriages in the military than in the general populaion.

The largest group of STD and HIV cases are women.

Want to ban us?

It's all people, Ray, people.
We're not that different.
You just seem to have a lot of unfounded fears.

I don't get bailout money either.
Nice try at deflection.
You're a bigot, simple as that.
Are you better than gays?
What does anyone's sexual preference have to do with anything?
Why the fear?

sigh

Read the thread before you post.

Homosexuals have served during all of our nation's history.

There is no ban on homosexuals.

Sailordave - I match your AGF-3 (what is an AGF-3?) with a ARG-4 Tutuila and raise you with a ARS-4 Preserver. The shaft alley is a good idea but there wasn't enough roon there on either of these ships for a rat let alone a sailor.
