why were they cutting her allotment? that's insane. can you all appeal it?

(this "junket" comes from an entirely different pool of money.)

Oh, I see it was a three day trip -- $1000/each for everything, over three days? $330/day each, including air etc? Not bad at all.
It's not a vacation. It's the federal government holding a meeting. Considering how much of a deficit the country is running thanks to the Bush/Obama team, the strawman arguments of rice and beans + unused Army baracks sounds pretty appropriate to me

Got any link to something like you're saying?
Not to say that your grandmother is lying, but have other costs, like jacking up BC or something be the cause?
Did someone do her taxes last year and make an error? That could have an effect on her earnings.
Why not have her send you the letter and you can follow-up.

Here are some resources.

There's nothing on-line about cutting current benefits.
Understanding The Benefits

What you need to know about benefits

Social Security benefits replace a percentage of your earnings when you retire, become disabled or die. Each year, we will send you a Social Security Statement showing your earnings history and an estimate of the retirement, disability and survivors benefits you and your family may receive based on those earnings.

When you receive your Statement, check your earnings history carefully. Make sure all of your earnings are accurate. Be sure to report any errors to us. That is important because your benefits will be based on your lifetime earnings. Your Statement also is useful in helping you plan your financial future.

Right to appeal

If you disagree with a decision made on your claim, you can appeal it. For an explanation of the steps you can take, ask for The Appeals Process (Publication No. 05-10041).

You have the right to be represented by an attorney or other qualified person of your choice. For more information, ask for Your Right To Representation (Publication No. 05-10075).

Do you realize we are deeply in debt. We cant afford to pay todays bills from the gov so we have been borrowing money and just printing.

You act like this money was spare change laying around that we had in surplus.

Heck I would love to be able to take a vacation and not have a single penny in my bank account but actually owe the bank. That would be nice now wouldnt it.

Hey bank I know I owe you a trillion dollars but go ahead and give me another 700k to I can attend the spa I am stressed out. LMBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I dont want to hear another democrat complain about what a company spends their money on. Its ok long as they get it for less then what its suppose to go for.

They can buy a jet long as they save a couple bucks.

Hey here's an idea...how about calling up and cancelling your little vacation, just like millions of other stressed out (wondering where the next meal is coming) Americans had to do this year when they didn't have the money to spend.

Oh, and BTW here is a nifty little website that cost consious business have to use...

Why would I have a link to my grandma's cut in entitlements? What do you think she does? Maintain a blog site or something? SS told her that they re evaluated her survivor's benefits and that they've been overpaying her $97 dollars per month for years. That's it. No further explanation. THank you for your support.
