What do you think paid for all that technology that we can now enjoy?
We don't have to wait for medical tests the way they do in other countries because we have the equipment, facilities and technology (such as a diagnostic equipment in just about every hospital, including MRI, CT scanning, etc.)
Yes, I know. But don't you suspect that they over-charge us for them? After all, a single Tylenol pill in a hospital will cost you about $5 (as was the charge for mine ~ back in '96!).
And there IS some "waiting" here, depending on where you live. I'm in a populated burb, and it's almost an act of Congress to see one of my specialists without a 2-3 month waiting period.
A thousand words could not have said more eloquently what this one photo says.
A brief second captured on film doesn't say anything. I like that photo.
I have a photo of me and my great grandfather, who was in a wheelchair kind of slumped down and with a glum look on his face. I am seen with my hand reaching to him and laughing hysterically. Some could say "look at her, pointing and laughing at that poor old man in a wheelchair!", but they would be wrong because they don't know what was going on, or what happened moments before and after than picture was taken.
I support the idea of healthcare reform. I don't think it should be rushed through and I don't think the timing is quite right. It's waited this long and it can certainly wait until next year or even the third year of his term. He's probably worried about cashing in his political capital but we have more pressing needs at the moment. I do believe it will be a necessity in order to curtail spending in the future.
