i've never heard anything about his politics. he famously shot reagan to impress jodie foster.
and let's also keep in mind that in the 7 months since obama has been president, at least 2 right-wingers (one of whom is a birther) have already gone on shooting sprees.
i can't think of any instances of leftists in the u.s. killing or hurting people for political reasons for decades, at least. can you?
Didn't some leftist animal activist blow up a building recently? Granted he got lucky and nobody was inside, but he didn't know that for sure.

Even though all economic indicators suggest that things beginning to improve, the right wing media seems to be ratcheting up the propagana and lies about Obama's policies (for example, completely misinterpreting a small section of the bill as "death care").
Followers are crashing town hall meetings and basically getting whipped into a frenzy like they were during the campaign when they were yelling things like "terrorist" and "kill him" at rallies before the McCain campaign stepped back on the rhetoric that was whipping people into such a frenzy.
One heavily armed woman scouted out a military base to plan a terrorist attack against it because Glenn Beck convinced her it was a FEMA camp.
I realize Clinton faced the same irrational fear before going down as one of the most successful presidents, but I'm increasingly concerned Obama won't survive long enough to reach that point.
Okay, so I've perused this thread since getting home from work, and I think I can categorize the responses to bluefly.
1. Conservatives who pooh pooh the whole thing and think he's being "rediculous" and "fearmongering"
2. Racists who probably wouldn't mind seeing him killed
3. Conservatives who think it's okay based on what the left did to Bush.
3. Conservatives who can't stand Obama yet don't want him dead.
Bluefly asks a rational question and he gets attacked by all these people. I think he has a point. I'm really worried about his safety. Hell, Glenn Beck had to tell his followers not to get violent! Do you think he just said that for fun, or was there a reason?
How can you not be worried when the leaders of the right are either de-humanizing him, or not shutting up those who are?
Oh, and for those who think Bluefly's being rediculous, what do you think about this article from the UK telegraph?
Yeah, John Hinkley was not a "lefty", he shot him because he was crazy and wanted to impress Jodie Foster. It wasn't a politically motivated shooting.
Oswald was certainly a Leftie.
