Extreme resentment happens.
But it isn't an excuse...

I realize that understanding the motivations behind an attack can prove beneficial in prevention but there is only so much that can be done to prevent an insane person from going on a shooting rampage.

Well!

She wasn't insane BEFORE the shooting spree.

Something must have CAUSED the insanity.

Maybe Big Pharma has the solution.

Maybe the faculty should have included some Clozapine capsules in her notice of non-tenure envelope.

Maybe it was triggered by a fragile mental state. Even if there were some unfairness to her being denied tenure, not receiving recognition for her invention or whatever else she may have a beef with ... There is no justification for what she did and the senseless loss of life.

Red herring attack!

No one is talking about "justification" for what she did.

Except you.

A thin line of sanity....

There's a lot of lunatics in the upper proffesional ranks. They maintain their thin line of sanity as long as their sense of privlidge and entitlement is not upset....the minute it is, that thin line of sanity is crossed and we read about it in the headlines....

I garuntee none of these upper crust types could survive 2 days in my world...but I could survive in theirs...
