A lot of people on this board are 58 and older.
Big deal.
You also can't say that Mai Lai didn't happen, other villages were destroyed also.
And for what?
Can't handle the truth eh? Maybe a big fattie is in order
Oh is this yet another trial? Do you have any idea what the lotto was? Do you have any idea what the word 'orders' mean, and what happens if you don't follow them?
Do you really think 18 to 20 year old kids have any idea what the CONS is and means?
Just exactly how many of you friends have died in your arms? How many names do you know on the WALL?
Tell me what I should think when I was holding a door and was kicked by a woman whom I held the door for in the friggin airport?
I almost wish you were here so I could really use my 1st Right. I have no idea what you think you know as well as a few others.
I see right now i should have remained silent, so the lies you love could prevail.
Who here is fit to Judge?
No maybe I should be upset since it was my friend, the ones who we all watched each others backs that aren't here to speak for themselves.
The one who shot a women thru the head for a pot belly pig... then cried about it later. You simply have no idea.
I am off of this thread. It is way to upsetting.
I suggest you get a 'mother's helper' and listen to Richie Havens.
I ask this question cuz it appears ,today, the only ones who admitted they were protesting back in the 60's add--" but I supported the troops back then"
What happened to the vast majority of the Vietnam war protestors who sure as heck showed no support for the troops?

Have they died off?
Selective memory?
Or are they ashamed to admit their behavior ?
Perhaps you should define "support for the troops". Exactly what does that mean?
The vast majority of the people I know who protested the war felt that ending the war and bring our troops home was a damn good way to support them.

Which is the real discussion that should be had, the drug abuse that started in Nam. You people complain that America did not welcome the soldiers back. In many cases that was their own parents that did not accept them. You see mom and dad sent little blond haired blue eyed Billy off to war. What they got back was a drug addict that couldn't pump enough chemical into himself to stay happy.
The Government wasn't going to admit that there were more drugs in Nam than there was at Berkeley. So they just shut there eyes hoped that the Nam vets would go away.
Some cleaned themselves up and had not to bad of life. Others well Viet Nam Killed them, their names just won't be on any wall.
You missed one, US involvement actually started under Eisenhower.
500 advisors only, a whole different thing.
Thank you for being civil too.
