Oooooooooooooo ... are the lights out in Vegas now that Obama has obviously put the word out that parents shouldn't blow their kid's college funds on Vegas gambling????

Oh brother righties and independent mayors of Sin City, get lives!

And all those good tea party christians are going to Vegas and go to church between sessions right?
I have been to Vegas 7 times in my life (me and the wife hope to retire there) and do you know how much I gambled?? About $100l. A nickle slot here and there and a few games of blackjack. I don't know why people think that all you can do in Las Vegas is gamble. I can spend a week there, have a hell of a good time and not go into a casino at all. Within 25 miles of the city limits of Vegas are some of the best national parks and mountains in the country. You also have Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and a few hours away The Grand Canyon. In the city, you have any number of shows and concerts to choose from- you can see Circus Circus tonight and Barry Manilow or Lionel Richie tomorrow. And right now, it is actually pretty reasonable money wise to go there.

Obama literally tells people to be responsible with their money and conservatives are angry about it.
And a man with such superior speaking skills could have made that point without disparaging a particular city..twice.

I am no Obama fan, but would gladly meet him if he ever gave me the opportunity. I have a couple of questions for him....

If Obama really wanted to help families budget their money, why doesn't he tell all those welfare moms to stop blowing their money on gold teeth, cheap bling and Louis Vuitton bags? There are much larger issues than families vacationing in Las Vegas, but this small minded POTUS fails to see them.

Trust me KevK when I tell you, Las Vegas is actually a very boring town to live in full time. Oh to be sure - the first 6 / 9 months can be fun - after that though, it will really bore you.

Us Locals get out of town as much as we possibly can -

I am not conservative and I have no problem with him saying that people should be responsible. I have a problem when he implies that one city should be singled out to be the whipping boy for irresponsible behaviour. If he had said people should not blow the kid's college money in a casino, nobody would be in his ass for it (including Hairy Read who is a Democrat). There are casinos all over the country- New Jersey, Mississippi, North Carolina, Florida to name a few. Obama was wrong to choose a single city where people are already hurting because of a bad economy.

Yeah, I'm sure you would've taken whatever he said with no bias at all and taken refused to take a dump all over it.

Vegas mayor is protecting his constituents, I don't really see anything wrong on either side.

Sorry I don't need to villify every dude I disagree with.

Vegas: Cirque De Soleil capital of the United States.

I like the desert climate and the fact that it is just a few hours drive to L.A. and the beaches as well as the Grand Canyon. Also the fact that taxes are low and the state will not take an additional 6% of my meager pension, Social Security and 401K income as Georgia does.

Are you kidding? hussein obama has no respect for the office of president. If he did he would not have put racists, bigots, union thugs, communists, gays that have no problem with adults having sex with children, tax dogers, ex-cons, terrorist sympathizers, America haters in his administration. He also would not have a radical gay decorate one of the white house christmas trees with his image on MT Rushmore, Mao, and a trasvestites that proceded to brag how he had his balls hanging on the white house christams trees.

If hussein obama wants respect, he will have to be respectful.

Have you ever been to Vegas? There is more to the city than gambling.
