Report: One-fourth of welfare payments go to illegals

Nearly one-quarter of state welfare payments and food stamps issued in Los Angeles County go to children whose parents are in the U.S. illegally, according to January figures released today. Supervisor Mike Antonovich offered the statistics, generated by the county's Department of Public Social Services, to help make the case for enforcing the nation's borders, establishing health care clinics on the border with Mexico and reimbursing local governments for unfunded state and federal mandates, according to his press deputy, Tony Bell.

Obama should really tackle illegal immigration before attempting health care. Illegals cost our society billions from educating their children, to use of programs and services including health care. The cost savings of tackling illegal immigration could at least help pay for his bloated health insurance reform bill.

He just wants their votes on election day. And yes, it is wrong. If they are here illegally, they need to be deported and stop draining our system like his aunt has been doing for the past decade.

That's what it is all about. Votes! If hussein obama cared one bit about the black community, he would demand illegal immigrants were deported since they hurt blacks in the job market more than any other demographic. As it is hussein obama is in the pocket of SEIU, who employees mostly illegal immigrants and brags about it. Where is Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton on this issue? Where are all the black organizations that say they are working to better life for blacks in this country?
I know, they are Democrats so they too will sell blacks down the river for those illegal immigrant votes.
I am not in favor of illegal ANYTHING- but these immigrant children are probably going to be taking care of us in our old age. Just a thought.
how are they going to do that? with the big money they make driving down wages for all americans, or with the money they get for scholarships taken from american citizens?
it isn't exactly like mexico is sending their best and brightest over here. they are sending their surplus population as their safety valve and letting us try to figure out how to handle it, instead of reforming their own corrupt system.
