Why do people consistently fail to realize that this is part of the pricetag for this HCR bill? The CBO numbers are crap since they aren't including the costs for this unfunded mandate that the majority of states CANNOT AFFORD!!!

HCR has nothing to do with unconstitutionality - if it only applies to "voluntary" socialists.
Consent goes a long way 'round the limitations in the USCON.

Try and find "the law" that compels all Americans to enroll into Social Security. Or try and find "the law" that punishes any American who does not participate. Write to your "representatives" and ask for a copy.

The problem - there is no law. Yet millions of Americans get "the number" believing that there is a law that requires them to do so, in order to work in their own country.

HCR is a minor scam in comparison to that.

Of course, the day that 51% leave "voluntary" socialism, the government would collapse, and there would be a flurry of resignations and flights to countries that don't allow extradition.

Well I just can't help but notice it is the liberal left in the house and senate driving those luxury vehicles. Rangle sure did not do without. Rebubs are guilty as well, but you can't give the left a pass on spending an insane amount of money right now.

The answer is cuz that would draw even more opposition.

This way, Obama can lash out at "evil" insurance companies.
How many years/months do you think health insurance companies will be in business under the proposed health care bill?

Not for long!

THEN Obama will state that the govt will take over paying the medical bills directly financed via even higher taxes.
Sounds good to me.

I do not like using Newsmax but they had a list of states. I wanted to point out those that went to Obama in 2008.

Newsmax - Massive State-Level Revolt Brewing Against Obamacare

Bolded went to Obama.

According to the bipartisan NCSL association, as of March the states filing formal resolutions or bills include: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming

I see a handful of pretty blue states up there. Please explain.

Why do you call stuff you dont want to know, "spin"? You all do that.

The fact remains, you dont have to buy insurance, you are not forced to buy insurance.

But you dont have to buy it. The other posters were claiming you're forced to buy insurance -- you're not.

Look at the report (State Legislation Opposing Certain Health Reforms, 2010)

So far in 2010, bills have been rejected or failed to pass in: Indiana, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Mexico, South Dakota and Wyoming. Newsmax forgot to mention that in there article.

Many have so many hurdles still to get passed, and then most voters do not care for knee-jerk reactions for changes to state constitutions.
