My buddy recently had a stroke.

He has absolutely no insurance after being laid off from his job more than 8 months ago. He was in the process of starting his old business back up, but could not afford health insurance premiums, just yet.

He was in the best Hospital in Austin, Seton, for 14 days.

They did not kick him out. He did not die. He is going to get billed for the services, which he is going to pay $190 a month.
He joked and said, "that is less than if I had to make premium payments and there was no deductible. Best deal I have got in years!"

kosmos switched, so now it looks like they have enough votes to get it passed.

Is this based upon your vast legal experience, and if so, can you sight legal presidence?

Or a fast track, just like the Gore vs Bush trial which was heard within weeks.

Oh, so I see, the truth comes out. You admit that this is stage one for establishing a monarchy to which Obama's offspring will then rule the US?

Funny, I have to buy car insurance if I want to drive a car - but - I don't pay a penalty if I choose not to drive/own a car (because a lot of supporters I hear are trying to use car insurance as a comparison)

Maybe someone can show me a clause where the Fed Gov't can penalize you for NOT purchasing a commodity. I'd be interested to read it.
It's not codified as a commodity, so its legitimacy probably falls under the General Welfare clause. Your payments or nonpayments would be reflected in your tax return, so the IRS would be in charge of "penalizing" you.

This should be fun it obamacare passes - hopefully there will be an injunction on the legislation and tied up in the courts for a while.

I don't think I've ever witnessed the public and individual states so opposed to legislation proposed by the WH and Congress. This is truly unprecedented.

I think it would be just grand if the states and individuals said "up yours" to the federal government and refused to comply with their unconstitutional laws.
The courts are not going to entertain political lawsuits.

Who will be the first to suffer a material damage?

That is such bull fertilizer. The claim to use the "General Welfare" and any legislation under the sun could be passed. All Socialists make this claim and wish they could use it to uphold their agenda. They think they know better what is the "General Welfare" for citizens.
