The individual members of Congress did not hide their support of Obama's healthcare plan in November of 2008--and in fact that plan went further than the one passed last night.

I'm personally unhappy with the bill, but recognize that compromises had to be made. Hopefully this is something that will be fine-tuned over time. And don't forget that some of the people in this majority were actually unhappy because it didn't go far enough.
That's because the bill goes too far in the eyes of the anti-healthcare types, and it doesn't do enough in the eyes of the socialized medicine types. It's a typical Democrat move, they are too scared to playcate to their left-wing base, but they still want to do something, so they make a weak move like this one.

Really, what we need to do is simply become more federalist and allow each state (or even regions of each state) choose their own healthcare path. Make it so insurance companies can only operate in states where they are licensed and everyone gets what they want. Californians and people from Massachusettes get their universal healthcare while Texans and Oklahomans can keep their tax money.

Maybe I didn't go back far enough I would say this has been coming since they illegally made it legal to collect taxes on income whenever that happened. Or we could go back even farther when the states were fighting for freedom in the 2nd america revolution 1861-1865. So that would be well over 140 years.

Funny how the country was recovering (granted at a snails pace) and then late 1936, when social security payments were in full swing, the economy took another big hit and unemployment skyrocketed in 1937.
Granted there were other contributing factors. All having to do with Government manipulation that backfired.

Well, "kamra" must be a b*tch because the GOP is at it's lowest point ever! It's a party of bat sh*t crazy, right-wing, fundamentalist bible thumpers who no one wants anything to do with. The moderate Republicans have been disenfranchised and left for dead by the likes of Karl Rove who courted the likes of James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell and their flunkees. .
Wrong. There are some wacko crazy fundie Republicans just like there are some ultra-liberal, hippy Dems. However, there are a whole lot of us in the middle. And for the most part, we are the educated and the wealthy. We create jobs. And we pay the most in taxes to support the welfare bums and the baby mamas. And now those of us who weren't paying attention....ARE PAYING ATTENTION! Just watch what happens in November. And watch what happens with the Supreme Court. This Bill is unconstitutional...so much so, that a law student could draft the Petition. Three of our state AG offices are poised and ready. And we all know how the Supreme Court feels about our Dear Leader.

How Neo-Cons, Neo-Nazis And Neo-McVeighs Crashed Ron Paul’s Tea Party

The Tea Party, which started off as a Libertarian protest against taxes and government, has turned into a right wing, corporate sponsored, racist hate-fest. Three groups have joined the Libertarian founders of the Tea Party movement to add money, racism, hatred and conspiracy theory based paranoia to the Tea Pot.
