You know what? The passage of this Bill may be the best thing that could have happened to the country. I live near D.C. and we were at the protests yesterday. People are furious! Not just rich white people...we saw a huge diversity in the crowd. Black, White, Hispanic, Republicans, Democrats, Tea-Party, older people, young people....I think everyone was represented.
Not one Republican voted yes. Many Democrats voted NO. Many of the ones that voted yes, were bribed and threatened and eventually caved.
Why do I think this might be a good thing for the country? Because now maybe folks will WAKE UP! This Bill is unpopular with a majority of Americans. Do you think they are going to vote for the morons who supported this legislation? Hell No!
Most of us want health care reform. Most of us want all Americans to be covered by insurance. But most of us are smart enough to know back room sleezy politics when we see it. We need health care reform...but not like this!
The Supreme Court is going to enjoy destroying this Bill. I can't wait! President Obama insulted them just a few short months ago in front of the nation. Kamra is a b*tch!
Best post I've seen on this thread. Thank you. No sane person even after four beers would support this crazy bill. And a lot of gullible people voted for it. There sure has been a lot of deception.
You're right. It's payback time for our Supreme Court.
Here's what truly amazes me. Not too many years ago, people in England boarded a rickety boat and set sail for a completely unknown world. They knew they faced possible death on the voyage, and starvation and hardship in the new land.
They entered America with only what they could put on the boat. They started from nothing and built communities, churches, stores, and schools. They left because they wanted to be free from government intrusion in their lives. What would they think of this?
Our country was built on individual responsibility. On hard work. On a frontiersmen spirit. Those people didn't expect the government to feed them. To build them houses. To provide for their health care.
What has happened to our country? How have we lost that rugged individualism. That work-ethic. That prevailing belief that without our freedom, we have nothing.
I'm not fatalistic. I truly believe this may be the wake up call. If you drop a frog into boiling water, he'll jump right out. If you put a frog in cold water and slowly turn up the heat, he'll stay until he dies. He doesn't realize what's happening around him. That's what I think has happened in our country. I hope people are waking up. Based on what I saw in DC yesterday, they are!
Well said. This is the proper thinking.
Nowadays, the sickness of liberalism has tainted the values of many. It's all about the dollar bill to them. people be damned.
Republicans are such Drama Queens from "Armageddon" to the "Demise of the Republic". LOL you guy really need to get a life. You look really silly and childish.
Good luck with that. I love how all the Tea Partiers hate government, and yet cant wait to become a part of it.
To reform it. That IS the democratic way.

I didn't demand anything I am simply stating facts. A revolution will happen in November and probably even after that it will continue. Hopefully we can get the communist non citizen president impeached and then charged with treason and hung.I would personally by a ticket to that.
Dammitt ...I want my country back...
It's the rhetoric like this that actually scare real Americans.
So because you don't like the programs of this party or this president then hanging is called for???..."communist",.."non-citizen"..."charged with treason"!!!
These are the nutty talking points that real America should avoid with a 10 foot pole.

So what was it in 1935? I'm sure you know that correlation does not equal causation.
You know, I know, from stories my mother has told me, that life was very difficult during the depression. If some of these social programs had not been enacted, people would literally have died of starvation. I'm not moved by stories about how the economy was recovering on its own and the govt. should have had a "hands off" policy. Tehse socal programs helped maintain an intact society.
I disagree, the social programs set about by FDR were the reason the depression lasted so long.
btw there were no stories about the economy recovering on it's own back then because that was not allowed to happen.
I am not going anywhere I am waiting for the 3rd American Revolution to happen. Part of it will happen in November when we elect Tea Party people who will actually listen to the people and enact our will not some socialist commie agenda.
ROTFLMAO!! HA! Why don't the old teabagger bigots all move to Idaho and we'll let it out of the U.S.A.!
The ignorance is just astonishing! Really, didn't they teach you anything in school? Or were you home schooled lol?! Yeah, we're now all commies

Exceptional post. I don't know what happened in DC yesterday to give you hope; but after that post, for you to say so gives me hope and after the vote by the house last night my hope was just about gone, but it will never go completely.
