Really?
I will say it depends upon your location and how the people are,as I stated earlier, there are bars that aren't welcoming to whites around here, but they aren't really places I would go anyway.

This is still an area with country mindset in some ways.

Now downtown is all types but we are on the 'island' and it is a little slower on the uptake...

You might want to actually find out the truth on this.

If I have a lawn to be mowed, and do not wish to do it myself, who I hire to do it for me is none of the government's concern. Why should it be any different if I have cars that need fixing or vegetables that need canning or whatever type of trade I may be involved in?

Nobody has a right to be hired. But if I'm doing the hiring, and spending my money to pay the salary, I have a right to decide who gets the job for whatever reason I choose.

Now I don't agree with racial prejudice in hiring, and I would boycott and encourage others to boycott anyone's place of business who was clearly prejudiced. But it is certainly their right to hire whomever they want based on whatever criteria they want, just as it is my right not to patronize them.

A quote that in a way applies:

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act doesn't just prohibit discrimination against racial minorities. It also prohibits discrimination based on sex, religion, color and national origin.

To all of you who think Rand Paul is right, would it be ok with you for employers to pay women less than they pay men, just because they want to? What about benefits? How about if an employer refused to offer female employees insurance because coverage is more expensive for someone who has a baby? Do you think employers should be free to pat women on the butt as they walk by, because they're inclined to? Should it be legal for an employer to tell you he'll only keep you employed if you agree to have sex with him? Without Title VII, you would have no recourse.

And for religious people, what if you work for a Muslim and he pays Christians less because they're infidels? Are you ok with that type of situation?

Title VII has done more to bring about real, tangible equality than any other measure that came out of the Civil Rights movement. Every person in the United States has benefitted from it.

Anyone who believes otherwise simply has no understanding of the statute and its effect on the workplace.

Wow I am not a libertarian (although I do agree with some of the philosophy) but judging from the number of threads on this topic, the left is very nervous about this guy and this movement.

Yes,they an employer should be free to do whatever he wants in regards to pay,the potential employee has the freedom to not accept.

I would think a person who is a greater risk(cost) should pay more than someone who is not...

No,that would be physical contact and assault.

Quote:

No,that would be extortion.

Quote:

Yes you would, you are free to go elsewhere for employment,it is illegal to assault another,it is illegal to attempt to extort something from another...

If he so chooses.
