I have always thought that was foolish but I guess you could correlate a QB to a pitcher in baseball. With that said, I dont know that wins for a QB is an official stats even though it is tracked by some people.
In the words of Herm Edwards “you play to win the game.” Does that mean winning is everything of course not no one would think Joe Flacco is better then Dam Marino but it is important.

Anybody silly enough to discredit how important a QB is to a team is just lost.

(With Flacco as the QB the Ravens made the AFC Championship Game three times in five years, and they never did that before with arguably better defenses! That 2006 Defense was great, but Mcnair was done, and it showed badly by the time of the playoffs! And even more so the following year!)

Things that have changed since:

Eli Manning: from 1 to 2 Super Bowl Rings
Peyton Manning: from 1 to 2 Super Bowl Rings and from 2 Conference Championship titles to 4
Russell Wilson: from 0 to 1 Super Bowl Rings and from 0 to 2 Conference Championship titles
Tom Brady: from 3 Super Bowl Rings to 6 Super Bowl Rings and from 4 Conference Champioship titles to 9
Aaron Rodgers: from 1 Super Bowl title and Conference Championship title to....zilch added.

I was afraid to see how my question would be answered but this is the perfect answer.
