Totally agree. Not expecting much improvement this year. Do you all think Boys need to sign Suh or Honey Badger?
They will tell us they looked and even talked to them but they couldn’t real him(them) in. Because they play the pr move for the fans to stay optimistic.
well well, the cowboys dumped scandrick, who then went to the redskins. seems dallas now has a solid but young group of defensive backs. so we shall see how that bodes for next season.
If you had to list Dallas' top 3 needs\positions to address this offseason, what do you think they are? Off the top of my head, I really think Dallas needs to focus on getting some young upside players at WR and try to revamp that position, as well as getting a young upside TE to take over for Witten within the next year or so.
I know people have pointed the finger at Dak for last year's dropoff offensively and, in particular, the lack of plays in the passing game but I look at the receivers and I just don't see any playmakers who can help. Sure, Dez, can still catch the ball but he doesn't seem to separate anymore and I don't think he can be a #1 option on a good team. I sort of think he's kind of like late career Anquan Boldin at this point. Do you think that is fair or do you think that I am being too harsh in my assessment of Dez?
they probably didnt have enough room under the salary cap to get suh. beyond that i think suh's issues on the field would be a problem for the cowboys. they have enough problems avoiding shooting themselves in the foot with penalties.
The Cowboys saved $8.5 million off the cap, but the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver still counts as $8 million in dead money. It is not known if he will be designated as a post-June 1 cut. If so, he would count $4 million against the 2018 cap and $4 million against the 2019 cap.
The finances were at the crux of the decision. The outcome is still shocking because of Bryant’s stature within the organization and Jones’ close personal relationship with him since the team picked in 24th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft.
I think there is no doubt that Dez Bryant is in decline, no longer a #1 receiver and clearly overpaid. I do wonder, though, exactly what the Cowboys receivers will look like this fall. They already were going to be a clear weakness but they really need a lot of help now.
