And something is coming into the Jones House (formerly Belle) soon too. Town of Cary has been keeping under wraps but I know they just approved some upgrades. Rumor has it, it's something from the previous chef from An.
Oh, noticed the last couple of times I was at Bond, Pizzeria Faulisi is now finally calmed down enough they are not only doing takeout, which they’ve been doing for a while, but they have menus out on the bar at Bond. Maybe just from the dining room not being totally full at all times or the fact that Pros will bend over backwards to serve you, including bringing your food to you, but it’s a good thing.
I ride on E Chatham / Hillsborough all the time. There could be too many right of way issues to install a standard greenway there. I'd rather that as a first step that they install cycling (wider shoulders & sharrows) and pedestrian (sidewalks) facilities.
Yeah, sorry, wasn't clear. I'd like to see:
1) Some sort of connector to the Black Creek Greenway from downtown.
2) Extension of the bike lane on Chatham towards Raleigh past Maynard.
Bonus points for:
3) combination of bike lanes/greenway to safely get down Walnut and past the coming Ikea and connect up to the Raleigh greenways around Lake Johnson. (I'll ride roads now to do this, but worry about the Ikea/Wegmans future)
Agree, though you can get food from Pro's, the pizza place or food trucks while enjoying Bond Bro's.
I wish Bond would upgrade their food truck game. Rarely impressed with anyone they have out there (unless there is something special going on that brings in multiple trucks)
2) Extension of the bike lane on Chatham towards Raleigh past Maynard.
I love to see a bike lane like that at a few more intersections. Its there to eliminate cyclists jetting J-hooked by right-turning traffic. That's not much of a problem afterwards except for the $Gen/BoJ shopping center. Further on, a lack of a shoulder or bike lane becomes the issue.
We haven’t done the pizza since we saw the menus out . Since they started doing takeout, usually, one of us will just walk down, order, then come back in a few minutes. Pros, you order, then they give you number on a stick and they will bring the food out. I imagine you could call them, but it’s only a couple hundred feet away, so we just walk down. Pros has a few tables in their own section, but any time we’ve ever been there, they brought stuff out to Bond’s seating as well.
Thats great. So essentially, youre sitting at Bond, see the menu...walk over to Pro's, place the order, and Pro's gives you a #, then they come find you and deliver. Accurate? Thats great that they all work hand in hand, only thing better would be for the Bond folks to take the orders directly, but while convenient for the patron that would be tough on Bond. Good for them, glad they are all working together to build the community, exactly what that little downtown area needs.
