Um yeah not getting into a silly pissing contest with you, but you said "I'm a huge sports fan and I wouldn't consider the Super Bowl, or any sporting event, a life changing event. Life changing events are getting married, having children, etc."
So you defined events that are life changing in your mind and really kinda mocked the poster who said the eclipse was life changing. It's fine that it's not for you but it is for them.

I find it hard to believe you don't understand that there is an unspoken "in my opinion" inherent in my post. But as I said, some people just live life looking to get pissy about the most ridiculous things.

Sounds like you're trying to have it both ways.
I don't really care whether you view the total eclipse as life changing for your life or not — I will make my mind up about it for my life after I see it myself — but it obviously is life-changing for some people as evidenced by the hordes of folks who are eclipse chasers and travel around the world to view them. I doubt I'll join their ranks, but I'm definitely intrigued by it and want to see for myself what it's all about.
