I don't use the viewfinder anymore. I use the screen on the back of the camera, frame the shot, and just start clicking away without really watching the screen. I watch whatever I'm taking a picture of. This way I get to see it happening and I get the picture. Even if a few are out of focus or out of frame, it's okay, because I just keep snapping. Something will turn out.
..after 30 seconds of internal deliberation I decide to watch it from the comfort of my couch.
I figure TV and Advertisers would want to catch every millisecond of the sun going out so
coverage should be about as much as the sun will get! Lot''s and lot's.
If I believe half of the youtube video's covering the event my couch may in fact be the best place to watch it.
This way as my house sinks into the abyss that will open up from mother earth on that precise moment of full eclipse I will
be at least in the comfort of my home.
Of coarse I will be having this playing in the background every so softly..........wait for it! 2.28 minute mark! :0

The week prior I'll be stocking up on ribs and beer. The day of the eclipse I'm inviting friends over for a bar-be-cue and then we'll pull out the lawn chairs and enjoy. We're less than four miles from the centerline, way inside totality.
If it's cloudy or it rains, hey! We still have ribs and beer!
I keep going back and forth on it. Universe, why couldn't you schedule this for a Saturday ?
I booked a hotel room in Hendersonville so I have a shorter drive to totality if I decide to go there. That's great but it's getting home that's the problem traffic-wise.

Been doing astronomy for 50+ years. Likelihood of heavy clouds, 95%.
I'm not doubting your credentials and I don't claim to know the science behind it, but you're confident in saying (or typing...lol) there is a 95% chance of heavy clouds, 25 days from the event?
