To see the total eclipse, you need to be in the path between the 2 blue lines near the central red line.

Don't forget the part about the clouds, you can be in that "sweet zone" all you want and still see nothing due to clouds. The odds there won't be clouds in SC during the eclipse, are probably slim to none, but you never know! Probably the best places to see it and guarantee little to no clouds would be the high semi-arid parts of eastern Oregon and some places in Idaho.

Thanks for sharing the article about the eclipse chasers. I don't know if it will be life-changing yet, but I already emailed my husband and friends about going to South America in 2019 to see it.

It will be a partial eclipse, you will notice it getting darker. The moon will take a large bite out of the sun.

10 pack of Solar Eclipse glasses from Walmart with free shipping for $9. In case you don't have enough in your Amazon cart to qualify for free ship. 90% eclipse is good enough for me

I'll be driving 750 miles to get to totality. Partial isn't good enough for me, especially for such a rare event that's practically in my back yard. Well, 750 miles near that is. I understand that totality is not to be missed, if you can be there!

Quietly, please. Or better yet with headphones. The rest of us are trying to enjoy the eclipse.
