I've never understood high-end dining. You're literally flushing your money down the toilet.

Don't worry I did my part today. Held my pinky up the entire time I was guzzling my blue moon when I got home. (I didn't have an orange though so not quite the height of luxury).

we also have a Nordstrom's. And to me, buying a $300 shirt, $500 sweater, and $900 suit jacket at full price at several places is plenty of "luxury".

The Umstead Hotel IS defined as luxury based on ratings.

eventually, yes.

of course, why eat anything but dried beans that you've cooked at home with no flavoring?

Every year around our anniversary and birthdays, we think about where to go out to dinner and I consider the Umstead.

And every year, we always wind up eating bbq or something.

I think I'm ok with that.

I'm with you 100% too!

We used to have a Louis Vuitton in the Saks but it didn't last.

The closest Tiffany & Co. is in Charlotte, along with Louis Vuitton.

Cartier? No where in sight!

Ok...I'll admit it...I collect Jewelry. Yes, we can shop online but it isn't the same as SEEING it in person and TOUCHING it!

So, during the summer, when I travel with hubby, I make sure I hit the high end stores! And anything I buy then is considered a SOUVENIR!
