I was reading a thread concerning how men behave in certain areas. I was wondering, what percentage of women really like when they get whistled at by men.
I personally would never do it because I think it is disrespectful, but that is my personal opinion.
and sometimes it becomes so forceful that it scares many women and I've seen this happen first hand. For whatever reason groups of men will often shout offensive and incredibly stupid remarks to any woman who happens to be nearby.
Exactly. I go out and run/walk daily and I dread when I have to walk past a bunch of construction workers. I will try to avoid walking past if I can.
I have never, and will never, whistle at a woman I don't know. I'll give compliments to ladies around the office...and of course an SO would get things....but I would think I'm some sort of ET if I started doing this.
You bring up a good point. If I knew the person and it was someone who valued me as a person it would definitely feel different.

If it were legal , I'd suggest arming yourself. Situations such as that can turn acidic rather quickly. Or , get one of those ultra loud whistles. Fight fire with nuclear fusion!!
I never said anything about a smile. Smiles I can most definitely deal with. I love being smiled at.
It’s when they’re in a group and they start calling out things like “hey baby”, “hey s3xy”, “hey come here I just wanna talk”. Harassing, pigheaded stuff.
Did you read the title of the thread its about men whistling not calling you names, making lewd comments.
Exactly. Any woman who says she isn't a tiny bit flattered by a whistle is lying. Would the women against the whistling prefer it if the man yelled out EWWWWW instead of whistling?
I made a thread asking the purpose of whistling and cat calling. No one ever really answered.
Whistling is fine I guess, but anymore than that, I hate.
I'm guessing that few men who whistle could put it into words. Or maybe those guys are verbally challenged.
