I don't recall anyone saying that at all.

In some circles that may be the case. I don't see that in professionals as much as younger trailer trash women and nasty New Jersey housewives. Older women trying to act and dress like teenagers is not very classy.

2mares,
Sure, you may miss seeing men open your doors, pull your chairs, take their coats off and giving them to you or putting them on a puddle so you don't get dirty, etc. the same way men may miss the kind of woman you would see in Leave it to Beaver. There may be a few women out there who take pride in doing house chores and being in the kitchen for their man without complaining and men who also do those chivalrous things women like. Hey, they may still exist out there.

You may not see it in professionals when it comes to being in the office, even though that doesn’t hold many women from showing skin even in an office setting, but after 5pm things may change. Personally, I find it distasteful for a woman to dress showing as much skin as she can. Miss those black and white days where women dressed with more self-respect, décor, modesty, etc.

Sounds like you need to move to Pennsylvanian Amish country. I'm sure there are plenty of women there you would find acceptable.

But even in "black and white days" evening dress for women may have been sleeveless, backless, with plunging necklines or slits up to there. It definitely wasn't all long sleeves and turtlenecks, especially in the 20th century.

Some of those dresses in the 1800s were positively risque.

I'm referring to the post you commented on...

I look at it like this...I am a grown adult man...and I confess, I find a lot of women beautiful, no matter WHAT degree of skin they care to show---that's just me...

But what I am NOT is the Almighty, nor am I one of His self-appointed earthly representatives, who apparently seem to hang out in City-Data a lot...what I'm saying is, no matter what I may like or dislike, I cannot and will not try to force my views down other folks' throats---do unto others and all that

But I digress...here's the point, just because someone finds something distasteful (i.e. 'a woman showing as much skin as she can'), doesn't mean that someone else is a mouth-breathing, overheated heathen because they don't...too dang many folks trying to regulate what other people do and how they live, based on what THEY think is right and proper...put a sock in it, already---if people want to look, and find something attractive, they will...and they're NOT gonna stop looking because someone is standing off to the side, with their lips pressed in a line, going 'tsk tsk tsk'

lol I actually find Amish and Mennonite dresses kind of nice. Seriously

I'm a sucker for old fashion.

This said, onihC: there's plenty of middle ground between showing too much skin (unless someone is wearing a burqa, there's always some skin out there) and covering it all up. I suppose I dress pretty modestly as compared to women who love an outfit made up of a tank top (showing their belly button) and a miniskirt: I'm "conservative" in that, for me, I prefer more sober, traditionally classy clothes.

However, a woman (like a man) can dress in any way and be beautiful and (more or less traditionally) classy, or not at all. It all depends less on what she wears than on how she wears it.

I know that dressing with modesty, self respect, décor, etc. sounds unbelievable, something of the past, or something that can only be seen in an Amish country but my ex was not from an Amish country but from a modern big city (Osaka, Japan) and dressed “up to date”, if we may call it like that, but without the need to show boobs, ass, legs, and so on. Yet, she had big breasts, nice abs, nicely shaped behind, toned legs, etc. Like I said before, I found out she was in great shape until we went to the beach and saw her in a bathing suit or when we went to exercise. I thought it was great how she had a lot to flaunt, yet, she didn’t see it necessary.

I don't think they can date non Amish people, they can only do business/trade.
