Majority of men find light skin Black women more attractive though.

So then you know why it's an issue then. So obviously those women who have seen this as a barrier are going to discuss it in this thread....

There are skin creams where you can make your skin lighter.

this is true and people that sit around and act like it's not need to read up on it.

edit: I'm not interested in making my skin lighter, for the purpose of getting a man. I like my skin the way it is.

P.S. I'm confused by the friend request and going to deny it, FYI I am dark skinned so I don't know why you want to be friends on here.

I am aware that men are generally inclined to find Caucasian features more attractive...

But you can be light skinned and have very SSA features, and dark skinned and have stereotypically Caucasoid features.

I've found skin color really doesn't matter then.

Your skin color has nothing to do with my friend request.

If you're gorgeous, you can land anyone. If you're not generally attractive to men, don't blame it on your skin color.

Plenty of ugly light skinned women.
It is much deeper than one guy not liking someone because of her skin tone. It still very much is the case that our society, and in particularly our standard of beauty, typically excludes darker skinned woman. I can name a fair amount of light to medium skinned Black female actors but there really isn't a large list of darker toned actresses. And, if there is a particular actress to gain attention, then her skin color is typically her signature (and if we are honest, the subject of comedians). I remember hearing many negative comments about Whoopi Goldberg. I also remember seeing Spike Lee's School Daze in a Kansas City theater and hearing someone in the audience shout about the heroine: "Damn! She's so black, she's purple". This isn't something that is specific to Black women, but we are certainly the ones to feel the deepest impact.
