My skin didn't grow lighter, I just learned how to do my hair, makeup and dress.

Your pretty, but remeber Nyc isn't representative of the whole country.

Well she actually grew up (for her time in California) in the town next to the one my sister went to high school in. And let me tell you, the people that live there are generally known as snobby so I am not shocked at all she felt left out. They left everyone ethnic out over there. And the people in the town next door were referred to as "ghetto" (the income level was possibly 20% less than that one, and they are both middle to upper middle class places.)

And still snooty over there now! (My sister's best friend's mom used to work with Gabrielle Union's mom!)

What does where you're from have anything to do with it?

You know that most of the people in New York are not from New York, right?

And what does that have to do with blaming your entire life's ill fortune on your skin color?

I'm black. I gave up a long time ago on seeing someone who looked like me on the magazine covers.

If you don't feel this is an issue to you as a black woman, you can't tell someone else it's not an issue for them. If you can't relate to it, why keep downplaying it for someone else?

I don't see any slender features on XXXbeebechick(sorry if I butchered the spelling)

But,I have to ask,do you think if you wore natural textured hair you would still be considered attractive?

Also,Nyc is so diverse, and to be honest Nyc is the true melting pot of America. I looove Nyc.
Everybody dates everybody whom they find attractive in Nyc. Even the nightclubs everybody regardless of color parties together.

In the south,I hadn't seen that happen.

Some white guys on the bodybuilding forum was saying Gabrielle Union looks mixed. I look at her face and see she kinda has a pointy nose.
