IF you can get women your own age why don't you just do that, the only reason I dated women who were much older than myself in the past is because I was incredibly desperate. If you don't absolutely have to date them, don't. It was better than being involuntarily celibate till 30 though. Don't do it unless you cant get laid to save your life with women your own age.

And if you do have to get with a woman that is 13 years older DONT marry her.

Any particular thread or post... I try and post and try and be as objective as much as I can... sometimes that may come off mean, isn't my intentions to do that, in general.

I see so much nastiness here, I often try and provide a "fair and balanced" look at things... don't know if I always get there or not, but I try.

There's absolutely no guarantee in life. You say you want only one successful marriage. What if you let this one go, and marry a younger woman and subsequently found out she can't have children. Boy… will you ever have regrets!

Marry this woman because it's right, don't over-analyze.

I think some people have never been exposed to certain realities so when you state it they think its bogus or not real or don't want it brought up. The problem is, if certain realities are not brought up then we might as well just have a discussion on fantasy land, I would love to live in fantasy land but I don't have the access badge to get in and I am subject to the legal system in my country of residence.

The op should let it go because it's obvious that the age difference really bothers him. The heart wants what it wants. She is 40 looking like 30 but that will not continue indefinitely & if the thought is already bugging the op then he shouldn't go any further with the relationship. When you're in your 40s and she is nearing middle to late 50s she will likely look quite a bit older than you. That's just a fact because you do more aging appearance wise between 50-60 than 30-50 but guess what you will be aging to and by the time you're in your late 50s you will likely both just look kind of old lol. People please spare me the Raquel Welch & Tina Turner comparisons because the average 50-70 looks 50-70 & there is not much that can be done about it. Plastic surgery? It just makes you look well preserved not young.

You're already dreading what she might look like at 48 & thinking about what you think you will lose out on if you marry her? Your priorities show that you aren't ready for marriage to anyone including her. Life is precarious. One accident or illness could turn the most beautiful young woman into a physically scared person who needs care. What would you do then divorce because she was no longer beautiful?

What did she have to say when you told her if only you were 35?! Lol. Very bold of you to say that.

It shouldn't matter. If you love her, then marry her.

No... I can relate to OP. when I was 27 I had a 42 year old gf, I probably would have married her but she dumped me. Her neighbors, her sisters, and her Mom and Dad thought she was off her rocker and convinced her it wasn't right,so I lost out.

LOL... just a surprising bit of sensitivity from you... I though for sure you'd let both barrels unload on the OP......
