its not a strawman.. Because it absolutely is related to the discussion you are promoting.
You insist there is a difference of between people and prostitutes. I assert that prostitutes are people.
You insist there is a difference between labor and prostitution. I assert that it is just like any other type of labor.
The only distinction you have come forward with measured against your definition of morality. Some do not find it immoral to have casual sex. Some do not find it immoral to sell your own labor.
You call it "common view on morality"... So define it. There are millions of people who would not find a moral objection... Are you sure it is a minority view... Or just the one less admitted.
I think the OP is talking about why a woman would refuse to date a guy who has been to a prostitute in the past.
I actually don't ask my boyfriends anything about their past sexual exploits. As long as they test negative for STDs and understand the importance of us using protection, there's not much reason for me to know the details.
Yeah, I think that some women have the idea that something must be "wrong" with a guy if he "had" to utilize escorts, not seeming to realize that as great as a guy may be, that doesn't mean he will be attractive to women. It is what it is. But at least you are one of those women who don't care about such past details. If you are being honest.

The female posters on this thread object to the OP blaming western women for his or other men's need to use sex workers, not the fact they hire sex workers. He seems to overlook the fact that many sex workers are men catering to men.
Hmm. How about we look at this another way. Let's not say I'm blaming westernized women. How about... nature, modern culture, etc. just isn't in a way that makes the man attractive to a lot of women; therefore, he just does whatever he feels he has to. Would that be better?

So do you think that the blame shouldn't be on the men who, whether it be due to nature, society, etc. aren't attractive to a lot of women but, rather, on the government's refusal to legalize and regulate it so that less women will be exploited?
If a guy is continuously getting rejected in the dating game through no fault of his own necessarily, can u blame em for eventually going to an escort?
Exactly! To me, that sums it up, but some people in society act like they can't even understand such reasoning.

I don't care if people go to escorts but think for a minute about what you just said.
continuously gets rejected through no fault of their own.
If one is always getting rejected there is something, some fault.
I don't know ANYONE who has always been rejected.
Why cant some people just take a little personal responsibility.

There are men who many women simply don't give the time of day.
But even if, as you say, it's not true. If hypothetically it WAS true (that there was a guy that no woman wanted whatsoever, even though he took care of himself, was a nice guy, etc.), would you then at least understand why he might find the escort route appealing if he wanted temporary relief through companionship?

pretty much what i wanted to say.
and i'm not even saying it's the women's fault..they cant help but be attracted to who they like. at the same time, you cant blame a guy for wanting to go the escort route either.

I don't have any moral issues with prostitution, in fact I think it should be decimalized, along with drugs, gambling, all of the vices should be decimalized.
Watched some interesting documentary about drugs, drug trafficking and the sex workers and how legalizing some of that stuff would cut out a lot of crime and save a lot of tax payer money.

As long as a woman is involved in the sex trade of her own free will, I don't have any problem with escort services. I don't look down on the women who sell their bodies, nor the men that utilizes their services.
But, because prostitution in the US is not legal and therefore not regulated, if I met a man who confessed to using an escort services, I doubt I would become sexually involved with that man. My main concern would be diseases.
