I've done some cutting back on my own hobby. I build/customize model cars. Seeing model car pieces all over my room tells me that no woman would put up with it!
I'm more concerned with their ability to moderate the financial aspect of their hobbies and their ability to balance it with other things in life; ie relationship.
Watching sports/p0rn/video games more than a couple hours a week - preferably on "their own time" when I'm not around. Well, maybe I'd watch some p0rn with him, but most guys who watch it all the time never want to actually DO anything!
You'd hate for a guy to play video games or watch sports more than a couple of hours a week?
Me and you would definitely not get along, at least in a relationship sense...lol
I was an aspiring actress a couple years ago. I was dating this guy who was pretty successful at making money with his hobby (making vid games) and yet he kept judging me for wanting the same.
I would probably have a problem with someone playing pokemon cards. I don't know how I feel about hunting either.
It's not the hobby that's a deal-breaker. It's when it becomes obsessive-compulsive, as it did for the woman you mentioned. When it puts someone at financial risk, they have a serious problem.
Same thought here. It's not the hobby causing the problem, it's the compulsive behaviour.

And people prone to compulsive behavior will be that way with other things, not just a specific hobby or two. The OP is really missing the picture. Avoiding women who enjoy antiquing isn't going to spare him any drama or stress.
No hobby should be a deal-breaker. Any hobby could be if one spent ALL their time on it, though.
