I've never read any either except while waiting in the check out stand and then only to chuckle over the fact that people actually read this stuff. Ranks right up there with the two headed baby in the national inquirer.

I had to read Twilight because my 11 year old wanted to read it. It about killed me. Girl meets guy...rich bad boy guy...oh wait it gets better...guy posesses the secret to eternal youth and imortality....gag.....So girl only has to get guy to fall in love with her. She doesn't have to do anything other than be the object of his affections and she gets the handsome guy, the money AND eternal youth. Of course she passes on the down to earth human who doesn't have money and she passes on actually doing anything with her life that would matter. I can't wait until my daughter outgrows her obsession with Twilight.

My daughter can't figure out why I skimmed 2/3 of the books.

I am not married, but I would be okay with it. I would be like, "Run along hunny and watch something so you're smoking for me tonight." That would be great.

I can't see how it equates with cheating at all.

I'm old enough, but I didn't really want specifics so just ignore my question. This thread is strictly about how people view the similarities (or lack of) between the two types of entertainment.

I have. It just doesnt work for me. Here's a sampling:

"......she grasped Lord Sweeny's loins as wave after wave of pleasure reigned upon her soul like cascading sheets of torrential rainforest summer rain, as their bodies entwined like like the wisteria plant vines climbing the tallest tree which canopy of expanded leaves and branches expanded and expanded larger than any she's ever seen before, taking up more space than all other trees she's ever imagined as it rises and rises towards the highest peaks and highest mountains as it rises faster and faster, she pulls his long golden locks of Sampsonesque hair as she nears her crescendo ............ blah blah blah blah.....".

I'll take Alexis Texas and the poolboy or Mrs. "V" and My Best Friends' Mom every time over that crap.
