No conscience for some, others act out of spite/vengeance. I couldn't be with someone that felt better about themselves by returning a wrong with a wrong. Tasteless and lack of class. This is a great thread though. I've thoroughly enjoyed learning about some of the people who frequent CD.

And you wonder why your sick, twisted ass can't get a date?

First and lesser of the two times was when, at the restuarant I work at, a co-worker asked me to run a credit care for this young fellow (maybe 19-23) on a date. Well, the card was declined...so, of course, I ran out and said, in a loud voice, "sir, your card is declined!" The fellow looked scared and a little embarrassed, and gave me all his cash and told me to put the balance on the card. Well, the balance at that point was thirty dollars and some change.
Well, I rang it through and, sure enough, the card declined the $30 too! So, I ran to the table and declared, "Sir, you check card (making sure the girl knew it was his checking account we are talking about here) declined to thirty dollars." The kid, looking humiliated, turned to his date and she paid the rest.

That "I suck at life!" look in his eyes was priceless.

Second, and worst time was when I was at a bar after work, having my "that was a rough night" drink, alone, as usuall. Well, this young female walks up to me and says "hi" and I say "hi" back. She starts trying to talk to me and smiling, while I, Mr. Anti-Social that I am, just keep looking straight ahead into empty space. What the heck is she doing talking to a Goblinoid like me anyway? Well, finally I turned to her and asked,
"Do I know you?" in a disgruntled voice. She looks at me and, trying to keep smiling says "ohh...no..." at which point I barked, but not loud enough for anyone else to hear,
"yahh, I don't, and I don't want to know you either! I don't come to bars to be harassed by some ugly c ***t I don't even know! So please, just get the hell out of my face, fat girl!" Note that she was neither fat nor ugly, but average weight and rather plain looking, but certaintly not ugly.

But of course, women HATE being called fat.

Well, she walked away and said something quickly to her friends, sitting at a little table, and then made a B-line to the bathroom with her hand covering her face...I think she was crying!

One of her friends went into the bathroom after her, while the others just glared at me. So, I left, and was laughing all the way home, and still find it funny to this day.

I am NOT USUALLY THAT BIG of a A^**hole. I am usually a nice guy, but yahh, I do have a sadistic streak.

In the words of the immortal INXS "Every single one of us, a Devil Inside"

YouTube - INXS - Devil inside

And no, I still feel no guilt from either of those events...quite the opposite, I still think they were both hilarious.

I would feel absolutely no compunctions about doing something really bad to someone who hurt my children, wife, mom, etc............No remorse whatsoever.

Yes, absolutely. I have no justification. It's just my head battling my heart. My heart is in the lead so far.

Yeah, afraid I don't have any. I've done a couple minor payback things that I didn't feel any guilt for, but nothing major that I can think of.

Unless maybe involving the RIAA a bunch of years back.

I'd like to add to mine that while I know I have no justification, there are extenuating circumstances that do make it so much easier to make certain choices.

I generally feel bad doing "wrong" things to people because I have this habit of ALWAYS putting myself in the other person's shoes.

However, once, a good friend of mine had this on/off again boyfriend and they had been like this for a couple years. This guy, let's call him X, and I had been friends for a while too although we started off as good friends and then became friendly acquaintances and then eventually just rarely talked. I know that he's always been attracted to me but when I started to become attracted to him was when our contact diminished because all of a sudden I became more aware of stuff and therefore lost a bunch of my social skill around him lol... plus my good friend was in love with him.

Anyways, I basically tried to get with this guy and even ended up kissing him, all while he was on and off again with my good friend. I would even hear my good friend's ramblings and rants about him and use it to my advantage to get him under my claws. Of course, once we actually did kiss, I completely lost ALL attraction I ever had for him and that was the end of the story. I decided that she could have him because I didn't want anything to do with him in that context.

I later ended up telling my friend about me and him kissing. She was weirdly okay with it. We're still good friends. Me and him are also now pretty decent friends. It helps that I'm not attracted to him lol.

Ok I have a few, not as bad as some but still cruddy nonetheless:

I went to Sears to get a battery change, the guy informed me that it would be a 20.00 disposal fee, I let him know that their is no need to worry, I would take care of it. I left the battery in the parking lot

Another time @ (the same Sears) went and got an oil change, the guy gave me the keys before I paid. I gave him a twenty for the oil change, but the bill came to look $20.75 or something. I told him I would run to the car and get the change. He left the twenty on the counter, I snatched it without him knowing and I was gooonnnnneeeee!!!!

The last one I will share, I went to Toys R' Us to pick up a bike that my sister had them assemble for my nephew. As soon as I get to the counter, my sister calls and lets me know that she already got it. As I am walking away, the kid behind the counter asks me am I hear for the power wheels hummer. I'm like, sure am!

Sadly, that particlaur Sears has now gone out of business, I guess my antics didn't help!!

I have a few other dine and dash stories, but you get the drift.

Meh, returning a wrong with a wrong, I guess it all depends on who's looking in. I know what I did was not out of spite or vengeance. I don't think I have ever really been either. It may have gone against the rules (thus "the wrong"), but it was over for me. I didn't feel any hatred or love. Therefore, there could be no spite or vengeance.
