Why would any decent man need to "hide" anything from his wife? Regardless of what it is. You'd lose her trust for one thing. And without trust...you've lost your marriage. It's a stupid move.
Agreed.
I would think his ED was a problem for a while before he got the Viagra, so it likely wouldn't have been a secret. I understand that it is a pride issue for a lot of men. But it doesn't just affect them. Why not tell his wife?
His reaction is typical of someone who's been busted. Not very smart, and not the way to treat someone you love.
The meds are not in his name.
A travel bag is a good place to hide the stuff, sure. So is his tool box, his desk, his gym bag; there are countless other options to preserve his pride. But none are quite as convenient as the travel bag he takes with him on his business trips.
Telling his wife about it means he actually has to go through the trouble of going to the doc, pay the co-pay for the visit and the script and AND he'd have no excuse to take it with him when he's gone. Makes no sense to purposely put himself in a position to look like he's cheating if he isn't.
Travel bag??? If my husband went on travel trips, and I happen to run across this in his bag, you can guarantee, I would automatically think he had someone else, during his trips! If it was for me, why in the hell would it be in his travel bag?
OP here. I saw my friend today at church. This is soooo messed up.
The name on the prescription is her father-in-law who will be 78 years old in 2 months and has been widowed for 5 years. AND he is a REALLY unhealthy man. She can't understand why his doctor would give it to him, then why her husband had it.
She told me a lot of stuff today that I had no idea about. Her husband has never had an *issue* in their marriage. This guy was getting sex EVERYDAY then pouted, whined and complained when it slowed down after my friend had 2 babies in less than 2 years. Plus, they already had 4 kids. He told her if she didn't give it to him as often as he wanted it , EVERYDAY, he'd get it somewhere else. Things have been strained since then.
He still didn't give her the answer? Why is she still wondering aloud to her friends instead of getting the answer from her husband?
She tried again last night. Again, he got defensive and acted like he was the victim. So, she stopped talking to him. And today he asks, how long are you going to treat me like I don't exist?
I've known her for 32 years. She is the nicest person I have ever known. And I mean really nice, not fake nice. I think she is in shock and I know I am.
