The theists here have never once provided any solid proof or evidence for a god.

I believe, most atheists would hold a God to a higher standard to that which the theists do. Of course this God does not exist either but this is what I suspect we would find acceptable/logical.

  • This god would communicate with everyone (on demand) and in an irrefutable manner.
  • There would be only one doctrine and only one "church."
  • There would be no need for theologians to explain stuff to us on his behalf.
  • When asked to perform a miracle, if it did not transpire, we would not be left guessing why.
  • This god would require no worship, perhaps reverence/respect.
  • This god would not be hung up on our sexuality.
  • This god would in fact deal with issues like famine and starvation in various parts of the world.
  • This god would not allow political leaders to milk/con us and enslave us to a system of usury.
  • Justice would be swift, logical and honourable.
  • Women would not be seen as 2nd rate citizens.
  • Of course this god would not have a devil with whom he plays cosmic chess using humans as pawns.
I am sure there are more, please add to the list.

Hmm...

I haven't looked it that way...
A list of what we question to the current religions about their God, as in, "God doesn't make sense in this or that or etc."

But now that you put it in a way that each "point" should be, making sense that is, but.. is funny.., I think I believe less now(I was Catholic, now sort of Atheist recently), I can't see that God being real even if making sense on each point.
I suddenly don't like the idea of how a God would intervene if it exists "in the right way". It would be such a mess.

I think, now I can see more clearly how we are better on our own.

These are all . . . as expected given your abreaction to religion . . . religiously attributed expectations. The single most relevant feature of Judeo-Christian and Islamic beliefs that is routinely ignored or not considered relevant is that WE have Dominion in this worldly state ("spiritual womb"). Despite all the delusions and misunderstandings of our ancient ancestors ignorance and superstitions . . . God does NOT directly intervene in our worldly existence. God is concerned with our spiritual development and maturity by which we are to overcome and endure this worldly state until we are reborn as Spirit upon our deaths. God intervenes only through the minds of others and ourselves with spiritual guidance and influence. We are children of God and must mature into independent adults. This requires that we independently overcome and endure the circumstances of this world.

You fail to see the irony that this post is just an apology for your non-existent god.

The bolded is exactly what I assert, god(s) only exist in the minds of men.

At least the "atheist god" would be one worth looking up to.

  • This god would not have or need a son (that is also himself).
  • This god would not have to be born mortal then nailed to a cross in order to patch his absurd and poorly designed system of "sin debt".
  • This god would not need a New Testament. Unchanging, ultimate sources of knowledge, wisdom and morality get it right the first time.
  • This god would come up with a much more intelligent and truly moral set of ten commandments and not waste half of them on self-aggrandizement and vanity.
  • This god would not rely on primitives using papyrus or animal skins to record and preserve his ultimate message to humanity.
  • This god would not use storms, floods, and other natural occurrences to punish "sinners". Those are the M.O. of man-made mythological gods like Zeus, Odin and Yahweh.

Behold!

The atheists are showing us what a man made god would be like.

Please continue.

No, to see that one only need read The Bible.

Pretty sad that we can come up with a better God that makes far more sense, huh?

Now here is a nonexistent divine being I can get behind.

Much better than all of the other nonexistent divine beings I've heard of. Moderator cut: deleted
