I'm resisting the urge to say that's stupid. Seriously, what does this post mean?

While we're on the subject of legal rights, I think it is unfair for hetero couples to have to bear the vast majority of the cost of supporting divorce lawyers. If gays were permitted to marry, they would need divorce lawyers when they separate. Those lawyers would want to be paid, and, therefore, the cost to be borne by hetero couples would go down.

Save money. Support gay marriage.

So I guess it's okay to destroy two whole cities and the people that dwell in it because of perceived homosexuality and nothing is done to Lot for having sexual relations with his daughter's? You know your Christian god has a strange sense of humor.....

Yes, now go to your Bible and look up the list of 'sins' that the city was guilty of and show me where you see the word 'homosexuality'.

So what you are claiming is that ALL the men of the city, young and old, from all around' (because those are the words the Bible uses)...were homosexuals, everyone of them, there was not one straight guy living there. Is that what you are saying??

Now please do explain because I'm keen to know, just why anyone would offer two virgin girls to a city full of homosexuals?? What did Lot think a bunch of gays was going to do with them...play Dominoes??

If you look at the above, you should have enough intelligence to realise that they were not homosexuals banging on Lot's door but heterosexuals who wanted to engage in the ritual sexual practice of the time....degrading others by sexual domination.

Again, I challenge you to find 'homosexuality' listed as one of the sins of S+G.

Ezekiel 16:49-50 declares, "Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me..."

Well round4 - where do you see 'homosexuality' mentioned??

Lot's incestuous relations with his daughters was a way for Israelites to denigrate other rival tribes through slanderous storytelling. (Moabites and Ammonites I believe)

In the same way that being against pre-martial sex, greed, and killing isn't hateful. Many people, myself included, find gay sex repulsive, but wonder if their truly is a God, then why do some people seem predisposed to being gay from an early age?

If spite of this question of faith, I don't think science or the human mind is capable of explaining that born nudists feel shame at around five. Modesty is pretty strong evidence that the books of Moses are, in fact, true. We have spiritual thoughts, or lack of them for a reason.

The fact the you're writing is on the defensive suggests that you are trying to justify your actions. This has two causes that I can think of, our societies stigma against gays, and guilt brought on by a God you may not have enough faith in. Did you know a celibate gay pastor in the World Trade Center was blessing people as the towers fell during 9/11? This makes me question my faith most of all because the poor man was not turned from his sinful urges, in spite of what was clearly a great, almost inhuman amount of devotion.

Because Christianity, Judaism and Islam follow a faith that is against gays, a society that trusts in God will not support gay marriage. The question really is, is it better to be oppressed by religion your whole earthly life, or be to faithful in waiting for the next one. Personally I have been happier living faithfully than as an atheist, if that answers your question. Even if hedonism brings you pleasure it won't bring you happiness, because we are all aware of our own mortality. Suffering for the good of humanity brings true happiness, but not instant pleasure. If you don't believe my advice, go on freerice and find out for yourself.

1) Rape is not homosexuality and nothing in the text says that Lot offered his daughters to homosexuals. Homosexuality was not even discovered until the 19th Century, so you're clearly adding your own ignorance and bigotry into the text and 2) Read Judges 19 (I doubt you have). Disproves the ridiculous Sodom = gay myth.
