That invisible man in the sky is writing this comment to you. The only reason you exist is because of the plans I made and the light energy I created. Do you know how big you are in this universe? Not big enough.

I think a lot of people interpret the Bible to fit their own beliefs. If a person is completely honest with himself/herself then heshe will study the Bible with an open mind. God wants us to understand. He wants us to humble ourselves and lean upon Him. The Bible is full of spiritual truth, but it is not like any other book we will ever study. You can spend your entire life studying the Bible and never get it. It isn't like a mathematics textbook--something that, if you spend enough time and energy studying it, eventually it will make sense. No. The message and the wisdom in the Bible can only be revealed by the Spirit of God. No matter how hard we try to get it, we won't, unless God reveals it to us. So, how do we ever understand? We ask Him to show us. We ask for Him to reveal His truth to us. "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receiveds; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." Mathew 7:7-8

First of all, whats the matter with people interpreting the Bible to their own beliefs?...We all have different experiences in life, no one person has the corner market on the "truth" over anyone else.
Would you prefer that people be dishonest and fake it and lie it and say what you want to hear versus what they experience and believe in order to prevent confilct on your part?

This is why it is better to read the bible in a bible group as it were. The beliefs pass around. The interpretations for the reading stay in each one of the readers. And then further there are interpretations (for, let's say, parables like that of the Mustard Seed; is that the same as the parable for the foul OR fertile ground?) which cannot OR can be accepted or declined.

Only God can interpret the scriptures. Otherwise, whoever reads the Bible will never know the truth.

I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. Actually I stated it poorly. I shouldn't have said people interpret the Bible to suit their beliefs. What I should have said insteas was that people will put their own interpretation of scriptures to justify their belief and behavior. Let's say I was raised catholic. I will search the scriptures to justify going to worship on Saturday or not eating meat on Friday. Because a person is raised to believe a certain way they will interpret scripture to justify their belief. I think a person can use the scriptures to justify just about anything. And stephadele you are 100% correct when you say no one has a corner on the market when it comes to understanding the Bible. We have to try our best though. Humble ourselves, keep an open mind, and ask God to guide you.

Nowhere in the Bible did Jesus and the saints say we should gather in a church building and worship something we don't understand. The church Jesus started was a spiritual one, not a physical church. Those of us who are spiritual saints don't need to go to church because we preach the gospel until we're killed. We never collect tithes and offerings and there's no need for choirs or Sunday schools. We're only the flesh that God uses for his own purpose.

I gather the two of you are still waiting for a Billy Graham type evangelist revival series.

Billy Graham is a false prophet who deceived millions of people during his life. All Christian pastors, priests, ministers, chaplains, teachers, and preachers are false prophets because they don't know who God is.

Could it be that the bible contains no truth?
By your post it would seem that god wrote the bible for himself, if he wrote it at all.
