It needed to be moved, the Christianity forum is supposed to be a place for Christians to talk and not get attacked and this thread does not belong there.
There would be no attacks on this thread if people would not say these poor people deserved it.
All those people who speak of love now, where were they before the quake? Haiti has been one big mess for many years, pretty much ignored, forgotten and given up by the world, like many parts of Africa.
There are 45,000 Americans in Haiti, mostly Christian NGO's.
Haiti has not been able to rid itself of corruption and violence.

I think the whole problem lies in the nonsense that came out of Robertson's mouth. He declares--with an authority he evidently doesn't see the need to document--that Haiti made a pact with the devil in order to get out from under the heel of the French (and he also needs to crack open a history book, with that comment about Napoleon III, who was still a good four decades away from becoming Emperor of France at the time of the Haitian revolution).
Funny, but 28 years before Haiti revolted against France, there were these 13 colonies in North America that revolted against England. I wonder why Robertson doesn't seem to think that the United States also made a pact with the devil?
Sheesh, reading this thread made me feel dirty, so I had a shower....Came back, caught up...need another shower...Un freakin' believable...I know lots of Christians but I have never encountered such as a few that are spreading their toxin here.
Adversity can give a people a new start. America will and has come to their aid, and give the world and the Haitians the opportunity to amplify love and compassion, regardless of the cause.
This could end up being a blessing for those that survive and overcome this disaster.

I fail to see how 500,000 dead human beings could in any way be a blessing.
That anyone could even insinuate that these people deserved what they got is beyond reprehensible.
Pat Robertson is a pathetic excuse for a human being and a waste of oxygen. I fail to understand how anyone could even take this man seriously. If Christians had any sort of cohesive intelligence whatsoever, they would denounce this man and all he stands for.

. Yes I did I have a freind there and we have not heard from her, so yes I am a bit sensitive and testy right now. And there is the Christian tolerance I so look forward to!!
And I lived in AZ, sun and heat doesnt bother me. By the looks of this thread , I will have A LOT of company.
