I fail to see how 500,000 dead human beings could in any way be a blessing.
The opportunity to grow out of poverty and negativity is the blessing.

That anyone could even insinuate that these people deserved what they got is beyond reprehensible.
Pat Robertson is a pathetic excuse for a human being and a waste of oxygen. I fail to understand how anyone could even take this man seriously. If Christians had any sort of cohesive intelligence whatsoever, they would denounce this man and all he stands for.
I can't disagree with what you have said, additionally we must recognize cause and effect.
I do agree with what Pat Robertson said about Haiti. After seeing the devastation on TV and hearing the stories pouring out of the country it does break my heart that these people are enduring such a massive loss. Families have lost loved ones, their city is in ruins and I hope it can be rebuilt. On the other side of the coin this country has dealt in black magic for a long time, which does not honor the living and true God. I don't believe God made this happen, but I do know that he could've stopped it if it was his will.
People are spewing out horrible things about Robertson...Christians, think of the prophets like Isaiah and Jeremiah. They weren't popular with the non-believers. Is Robertson a prophet? I don't think so, but God does give wisdom, insight and knowledge to those who seek it. People. take a look at yourself and your life before speaking in this manner about another person.
There are 45,000 Americans in Haiti, mostly Christian NGO's.
Haiti has not been able to rid itself of corruption and violence.
godspeed,
freedom
They are probably more of a problem than a solution. As soon as NGOs etc. are affiliated with religions, my alarm bells start to ring. After the tsunami such organizations, above all from the US, were quite active in India etc., offering money and help in exchange for a conversion to Christianity. Even suing Buddhists and Hindus afterwards who did not officially convert to Christianity after all.

Then you would rather the people of Haiti starve and die than have a Believing organization help them.
. Yes I did I have a freind there and we have not heard from her, so yes I am a bit sensitive and testy right now. And there is the Christian tolerance I so look forward to!!
And I lived in AZ, sun and heat doesnt bother me. By the looks of this thread , I will have A LOT of company.
Thanks for sharing that. I will definitely be praying that you hear from her very soon!
As for the heat, I live in Minnesota and love the cold, so heat would be a serious problem for me. Especially since I'm about the whitest white person you could ever meet. I'd need SPF100 if they made it.
Maybe instead of arguing whether these folks are suffering the wrath of god or not, we should instead show a little empathy for their situation and do what we can to help...I have and thanks to my government my donation just doubled.

OTTAWA—Ottawa will match every dollar Canadians give to the relief effort in Haiti, the government said Thursday morning.
