Rent and you never will own or change anything.

Pay of the Mortgage and you control it and can sell it.

as I've said a Zillow times, Renting is where you pay a premium to enjoy temporary, impaired use of property (with nothing to show for it in the end),

Life is about choices. We all make them. We all live with them.

What would you do it he didn't have a license to drive?

Yes, and they are here working for startups and infesting the shiny new high-rises that rent for $3K per month.

Yes, I suppose you could game you application - but what I don't understand is why you would want to. I've never feel comfortable spending anywhere near what the bank is willing to give us on a mortgage when we have shopping for a home for ourselves.

I would have to game my app to get to the minimum qualifying income. I don't think much of 3x income to qualify since I have extensive experience timely paying rent with income 1.35 to 2.45 times rent. Why should I have to suffer because OTHER PEOPLE cannot manage their money?

And they have every right to do so.

If you were truly an advocate of people who settled in an area first having special rights to remain there, you'd be vacating Portland in deference to the descendants of the Multnomah, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Chinook, Tualatin Kalapuya and Molalla tribes.

Quick, tell me who rented to you, that's the landlord I need.

In my neck of the woods, 3x and 4x (income to rent) ratios are very popular.

Good lord. What grown adult that is gainfully employed doesn't have a license? In fact, he has a Class C license, which means he's got more opportunity for jobs.

You really are a Negative Nellie, aren't you.

A couple that looked at our credit score, heard our moving story, and made the decision. They also called every reference we gave, and did their homework.

That's why a smart person would move out of "your neck of the woods".

My son has never had a licence.. No problem Buying in town nor finding work in walking distance. Many of his friends have no interest in driving either. Age range is 35-45 I found it strange since I had my Licence since I was 17. Guessing its a generation thing BTW most like my son has had drivers edu in school... just didn't bother to follow thru.

Well they better do like I just did and get a cheaper place.
