Google that address and they still want $270-285,000 for a home in such a subpar neighborhood not ideal for raising a family. RI is a joke. Go to a "red state" and you can pay much less than that in a much better neighborhood.

Something about price being a function of supply and demand; i.e., living in a "better" neighborhood in a "red state" is equivalently desirable to living in a poor neighborhood in Providence.

The two who post here in frenzied fashion love and are fascinated with the ghetto.
There is plenty in Providence that is not ghetto. There is plenty in the state that is highly desirable. So best to not give too much credence to the ghetto lovers.
Therefore, your "RI is a joke" comment comes off as uninformed.

The equivalency is perfectly put. I don't care what time of the year is beautiful anywhere in Arkansas.

I said its a joke because its just like other states like NY and CA where you overpay for homes in not so great neighborhoods. Theres a house on my street thats been sitting unsold for months and I assume its not been gobbled up because people think the neighborhood is subpar for what they want for it. Thats the only thing I can conclude. The neighborhood isnt even that bad but I think people just think they are too good for certain things and want better value.

You can have Providence (I was born there) but Ill take Des Monies, IA, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, or Omaha, NE and their suburbs any day. Why you would equate a nice quaint midwest town with a poor neighborhood Providence I have no idea.
