Dante Mann's cousin was murdered on the same street (Gallup Street) in South Providence a couple years ago. One of Dante's rap songs is about the cousin getting killed there.
Thanks for making my point about your extremely helpful contributions to anyone considering moving here!!! This is something they and us really needed to know.

Holly, an innocent man was murdered last night in Providence. Please show some respect. He had kids - including a baby that was born just one week ago.

IDK, but within a block from there there was this stabbing in July:
Gallup St. has seen numerous murders and shootings/stabbings take place over the years. I absolutely DO consider this pertinent information for anyone considering moving to Providence especially on a budget.
The words of Chief Clements after the August shooting:
"“We’ve had a couple of recent shootings,” Clements remarked. “We have, as we know, a couple of very hot disputes going on right now between different groups in the city.” Area residents worry those disputes aren’t going away anytime soon. “I definitely know this is not the end of violence. It’s never the end,” Santiago said. “There’s never an end in Providence.” “It’s traumatizing, you know?” she continued. “Especially knowing you have younger siblings. I don’t really like the neighborhood but this is what we’ve got to deal with.”"

Holly, it sounds like you'd prefer that they not know. Just let them come here, sign a one year lease, and let them find out the hard way?
On Friday night at about 6:30pm, a 67 year old woman was robbed at knifepoint on the East Side. It happened at 297 President Ave in the Blackstone neighborhood. This is a very nice area.
"Police met with the female victim, age 67, who said she was walking her dog when an “older, dark color sedan, with a loud muffler” pulled up alongside her and a male subject exited the vehicle.
The woman told police the male subject went up to her and asked her, “Do you know where Douglas is?”
The woman said at that point, she saw a small single blade pocket knife — with a black handle and a silver blade — held in the man’s hand, down by his pocket.
She said he asked for the purse she was holding, and she surrendered her bag, which she said was a Coach purse containing her phone.
According to police, the woman said he got back in the car and drove down President toward Blackstone Boulevard."
"Thursday 12:30 AM -- Stabbing Police responded to 12 Devereux Street for a report of a male stabbed in the face. Upon arrival police met with the victim who was bleeding from the forehead and face. He stated he had come over to his child's mother's house at 12 Devereux St, and when he arrived, a subject known to him was outside. The victim said when approached the subject to say hello, the subject cut him with an unknown object that caused a laceration to the left side of his face and also stabbed him in the forehead. According to the victim, the subject then fled. The victim was transported to RI Hospital for further medical treatment."
Same story reports an armed robbery in the Hartford Projects, a carjacking on Allens Ave., and a felony assault with a vehicle corner of Cranston and Benedict (in addition to the stabbing near Manton Heights that was already mentioned in this thread).

While it might be a nice area, don't forget that this borders Patterson Park which is frequented by quite a few creepy characters after dark (if you know what I mean).

I really don't know what you mean. Are you saying that owners of the beautiful old houses in the Paterson Park neighborhood are creepy characters? Have you been to Paterson Park after dark in some sort of "hot pursuit" and are now bearing witness? Or some other meaning?
Whatever your opaque meaning, this thread has officially jumped the shark.
