Hey! We moved from Mountain View (next to Palo Alto), Bay Area to Orangevale last year! And to be honest, we like it! We bought a 3brd/2broom house in Rollingwood area, by the lake Natoma, on Golden Drive. It's really nice neighborhood! My sister-in-law lives acroos a street (Main Ave) in Fair Oaks...

This is one of those questions with no right answer because it all depends upon your preference set, and also is pretty heavily dependent upon what part of the bay area you're coming from.

If you like bustling urban life, decentralized neighborhoods, and things like that, then going to a relatively banal suburb like Orangevale may not be for you.

If you value a quieter lifestyle, a bit less density, and cleaner streets, it could be right up your alley.
