I just had a $6 Carl's burger for lunch today. Maybe because I see it so often, I don't buy them much. Heck..they're even in Monterrey, MX now.

Ordinary, yes, but a welcome break from the rest of the chains. Very tasty burgers.

If you've eaten everything on their menu - think about WhataBurger's menu. I sigh every time we go in (it's hubby's favorite) because I know how limited my choices are. I know I can have it "My Way" but it's still so boring. What burger joint has chili or green chiles or onion rings on a burger? Whataburger only offers fancy things at limited times like BBQ sauce or Pepper Jack cheese - Carl's Jr has a much bigger selection.

Yes, part of it is nostalga - I'll give you that. I have memories of skipping school and hanging out at one in my hometown of Ventura California and then sneaking out the back when the cops came into eat lunch

The point of my post was only to point out that Carl's Jr. is not a "great" burger joint, but it's nice to have more variety to choose from. You won't get a great burger from any place that wraps it in paper, shoves it in a box, puts it under a heat lamp and then stuffs it in a paper bag. They may be somewhat tasty and different from their competitors' offerings, but they're still just fast food burgers.

As far as I'm concerned, getting excited about Carl's Jr. moving to town is like getting excited about Del Taco coming to San Antonio. (Let's hope that never happens.)

It's funny how people are always dogging the chains, and acting like there is no way on earth they'd eat at one, and then when you go the lines are wrapped around the building. I love all these healthy types that "aren't" eating there.

Denial is not just a river.

I had del taco when I was in LA a few months ago and their hamburgers were actually good, I think Del Taco would be an upgrade from taco bell.

That's like describing a turd from a cute, cuddly kitten as an upgrade from a warthog turd.

That's pretty bad when you think it could be an upgrade from something crappy.
