Uptown Deli, located at St. Mary's and mcCullough (next to Guillermo's in the lil shopping center) is closing after today's lunch. Sad because they were a so-so option in the area.

I miss when Watson was in kitchen, the Monty hasn't been the same to me since. The first couple years I went almost once a week, the last two years I've been a handful of times.

That's so sad to hear went there for lunch many times, it's was a good cheaper option that Guillermo's.

It was the restaurant that proved you could do some cool stuff in SA proper and do very well. They opened the floodgates.

The suburbs are still waiting for that type of restaurant.

Any suburb outside of loop 410 probably can not support that kind of business, definitely not outside 1604.

Agree. Just look at some of the asinine comments on social media when it was announced they were closing. People scramble to line up for In & Out, but a place like the Monty flies totally under their radar.
