Nope, we went down there as storm spotters and were in constant communication with the National Weather Service Office in Brownsville, Texas. We set up shop with the rest of the media at a marina next to the Queen Isabella Causeway in Port Isabel.

So any information they gave us, we relayed to the media. In return we gave observations to the NWS... we did spot 3 tornadoes in the outer rain bands last night.

Somebody somewhere got a good soaking around 4pm! I saw an awesome rain cloud over the Sea World area (or so I thought) while I was driving home up 1604. As I got closer, I could still see the roller-coaster, so it must have been over by Tezel/1604 area. I'm jealous.

Yes - I nearly drowned in the 6 minute downpour. I need to go out and put some water in the bird bath.

I got that a couple minutes after I posted, but it only lasted less than a minute. We got another one around 6:00 PM and that lasted for over a minute. Still very disappointing, but hopefully it will get better.
