Yep, my point exactly.

What's more shocking is that Fontana now has over 200,000 people.

Not to discredit Fontana's accomplishment, but massive middle-class+ suburban development usually comes with the byproduct known as lower per capita crime. It would not have made this list if the development over the last 15 years hadn't occurred.

That being said, I dig Fontana's older parts more anyway.

I think the danger from crimes in So Cal is wildly exaggerated by people. Of course Fontana is safe.

Want trouble? Try Newark, Philly, Baltimore, etc. etc.

Seriously, the IE is suburban. What's going to happen, a soccer mom is going to be assaulted as she drives her Audi to and from the Victoria Gardens to buy more Chanel sunglasses? Do hoodlums loiter the suburban culdesacs of Fotana? I don't think so.

One could even argue they were not residents of Fontana.

Not saying it's that bad... not as bad a Watts or similar in crime, but I DO remember the High School riot. I remember the murder at the skate park. ****, I remember seeing someone mugged at knife point at the skatepark. And that was the 3rd time I had ever even entered the city.

In a nut shell, I just do NOT believe the statistic.

I can't remember the last time I felt safe in Fontana. Perhaps you shouldn't believe everything you hear. According to the Animal Planet, they found the body of a mermaid. Both of these stories sound pretty far fetched to me.
