I always find the 'people are this and that' to be pointless. If you go to certain parts of San diego and you don't look like them, in poor or rich communities, they'll probably be rude. But if you go to NYC, Philly, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Seattle, Portland, etc you could say the same things.

Somebody could spend their entire lives living in PB, visiting clubs downtown, never really visiting anything out of their comfort zone and thats San diego to them. You could say the same thing about somebody who lived in Chula Vista or Rancha Bernardo and so on. Many people get stuck in their own worlds and that becomes their world. And that happens anywhere. Good and bad.

So you could be a 35 year old person living in PB and think everybody is fake and vain and rude. You could be a 22 year old and live in Poway and think its boring and people are rude. You could be a cashier living downtown and hate the people who come in and out that act rude all day.

It's all perspective really. San diego is a vain place. But so is LA. So is Miami. YOu tend to get that in warmer places where being in shape takes a precedent over other things.

Its almost as if many people refuse to find any fault with "America's Supposed Finest City" one doesn't have to look hard to find faults & blemishes in San Diego...everything isn't necessarily picture perfect in San Diego there are many woes just as in any other American city. BTW (America's *Finest City* Was Self Entitled) which you will find a lot of entitled people in this town....

*)-->5 Reasons NOT to Move here

1) Minimal if any industry & staggering unemployment!!

2) A drug hub since many of if it flows through this port of entry from Mexico
and the crime drugs brings about.

3) Throngs of conceited, vain, pretentious people.

4) Staggering Cost of living.

5) pollution, worst case of hard water I've ever seen & severe lack of greenery & trees.
I love that someone in Arizona thinks there is a severe lack of greenery and trees here

Staggering unemployment? What is your definition of staggering? According the latest BLS report, the unemployment rate in SD is 7%, that means that 93% of the workforce is working. Even at the highest rate of 10.6% a few years ago, a "Staggering" 89.4% still had jobs.

You moved to Vegas, right? I'm sure the 2 things you singled out about SD are the least of your worries compared to where you live now. Las Vegas aka The Land of Losers

The dramatics are not necessary in making a valid argument. Yes, you need to calm down.

On a side note:
Please do not say AZ/CA are "U.S. Territories", they are states. AZ≠ Puerto Rico CA≠ American Samoa

There you go again trying to direct me in how I should or shouldn't respond...you need to get the heck out my business & yes the states of Arizona & California are part of the United States Territory. They come under the dominion & administration of Washington D.C

Definition of TERRITORY

1
a : a geographic area belonging to or under the jurisdiction of a governmental authority
b : an administrative subdivision of a country

4. Unsavory attitude of many residents there. Materialistic, egotistical, indifferent to others, selfish, trying too hard to live a purile and shallow version of the American dream.
5. Lots of gangs and thugs and the streets are unsafe in many areas, public transportation is full of bad vibes and people looking for an opportunity to steal. Lots of neighborhoods are gentrified and safe. But 70% of San Diego is full of gangsters and macho idiots with something to prove. Only the expensive areas are nice, the rest is pretty bad.

San Diego also has a lot of great qualities. It's a land of extremes. Very good qualities and very bad qualities co-existing together. MONEY is the ticket to enjoying the good qualities of the city and insulating yourself from the strong negative aspects. It's a very capitalist place, for better or worse.

Another excellent list of reasons Not to live in * San Diego*.....Apparently I am not the only person that sees San Diego from a different perspective

Arizona is a Desert & well it's to be expected But a coastal region that's constantly waging a jihad on greenery & shrubbery is an absurdity I can attest to it from my personal experience all across San Diego...parks & green spaces are nearly stripped naked of any greenery!

Half of California's 58 Counties have unemployment near 20% or above.... I highly doubt that San Diego's current unemployment rate is just at 7%!! There are throngs of people who have ran out of benefits & there fore not counted! If I didn't know any better I would say San Diego is at double digit unemployment rate!
